President Xi Jinping Advocates Enhanced Audit-Based Oversight for National Progress

Chinese leader emphasizes the role of auditing in promoting economic security and combating corruption within the nation's governance framework.
In a recent directive, Chinese President Xi Jinping has underscored the necessity for high-quality audit-based oversight as a cornerstone for China's economic and social advancement.

This call highlights the administration’s dedication to strengthening governance mechanisms within the country's oversight systems.

Xi, who also serves as the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, articulated these views through an instructional statement aimed at fortifying the role of audit operations.

He reinforced that auditing is integral to the Party's governance strategy, pointing out its vital function in bolstering economic health, ensuring national security, and combating corruption.

Over recent years, China's audit authorities have significantly contributed to the sustainable growth of the economy.

They have been pivotal in identifying financial risks, unearthing potential threats, and supporting anti-corruption endeavors, according to the President.

At the core of Xi’s agenda is the emphasis on centralized oversight, with the CPC Central Committee at the helm, seeking an audit framework that is comprehensive, authoritative, and operates with high efficiency.

Xi’s directives were relayed by Wu Zhenglong, state councilor and secretary-general of the State Council, during the national audit work conference held in Beijing.

The event, spanning over two days from Friday to Saturday, witnessed the recognition of exemplary work, with 80 audit institutions and 45 individuals honored for their outstanding performance.

This initiative reflects China's broader strategy to innovate and reform its institutional practices, aiming to build a more robust and transparent auditing system.

Such efforts are aligned with global standards, showcasing China’s commitment to enhancing internal governance and ensuring fiscal stability.

As the nation progresses, these measures are anticipated to support the League's ambitions in securing continuous and sustainable development across its socioeconomic landscape.
