On February 11, 2025, the China General Chamber of Commerce-USA (CGCC) celebrated its 20th anniversary with a gala held in New York City, underscoring two decades dedicated to enhancing economic ties between the United States and China.

The event, themed 'Building Connections and Creating Opportunities,' attracted approximately 300 senior executives, government officials, and thought leaders from various sectors.

During the opening speech, Hu Wei, chairman of the CGCC and president and CEO of Bank of China U.S.A., highlighted the organization's growth from its inception among a small group of businesses to its current status as the largest independent, non-partisan, non-governmental chamber of commerce facilitating connections between the two countries' business communities.

Hu stated, 'Our commitment to creating value, driving economic growth, and strengthening bilateral economic cooperation has never wavered.'

The gala included a special video message from Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg LP and former mayor of New York City.

Bloomberg commended the CGCC for its significant contributions to U.S.-China trade relations, noting its essential role in fostering robust bilateral connections.

He acknowledged the efforts of companies present at the event in contributing to trade, security, and climate change initiatives and reaffirmed the importance of linking China with global financial markets.

A key feature of the evening was the 'Twenty for Twenty' Recognition Ceremony, which honored select member companies and partners of the CGCC for their achievements over the past two decades.
