Beijing Advances Humanoid Robot Innovation Center Amid Global Tech Forum

The establishment of a humanoid robot innovation center coincides with the 2025 Zhongguancun Forum, showcasing cutting-edge technologies from around the world.
Beijing has inaugurated a humanoid robot innovation center situated in Shougang Park, aiming to enhance the technology supply chain and boost the industrialization of humanoid robots.

This development aligns with the 2025 Zhongguancun Forum, which commenced on March 27 and is set to run until March 31, attracting over 1,000 participants from more than 100 countries to discuss advancements in technology and science.

At the innovation center, staff members have begun training humanoid robots, highlighting the practical applications of robotics in diverse fields.

The center is part of China's broader strategy to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) with industrial innovation, as emphasized by Vice-Premier Zhang Guoqing during the forum’s opening ceremony.

He expressed China's commitment to international collaboration in technological development.

The Zhongguancun Forum itself features 128 activities spread across five thematic areas: discussions, technology trading, achievement showcases, innovation competitions, and supporting events.

This year's theme, "New Quality Productive Forces and Global Science and Technology Cooperation," underscores China's focus on fostering global tech partnerships.

Key discussions at the forum include breakthroughs in fields such as artificial intelligence, life sciences, green development, and basic research.

The event also spotlighted the launch of a white paper on 6G technology, which outlines Beijing's aspirations to become a leading global hub for this next-generation technology.

A significant highlight of the forum is the display of nearly 100 humanoid robots from 15 companies, engaging in various demonstrations, including serving drinks and providing information.

Robert's integration of advanced motion control technology has captivated audiences, showcasing advancements in automation.

Furthermore, the conference included the unveiling of intelligent medical rescue equipment, developed collaboratively by CSSC Haishen Medical Technology Co. and DEEP Robotics Technology.

This suite of rescue robots is designed to operate in extreme conditions, equipped with capabilities such as obstacle avoidance and providing essential medical assistance during emergencies.

Beijing plans to leverage its substantial research resources, including 16 universities and numerous researchers, to support the development of 6G and BCI (brain-computer interface) technologies.

During the forum, notable advancements in BCI were presented, with a semi-invasive system achieving successful human implantation surgeries and aiding patients in regaining movement and communication abilities.

The forum has drawn notable figures from various sectors, emphasizing the importance of standards in promoting emerging technologies.

The discussions reflect China's commitment to embracing innovation as a means of driving economic growth and tackling global challenges effectively.

The Zhongguancun Forum serves as a significant platform for fostering collaboration among international scientific and technology communities, positioning Beijing as a central player in the ongoing global dialogue on technological advancement.
