Advanced Technologies Deployed in PLA Military Drills

China's military showcases integration of robotics, drones, and high-tech equipment in logistics and defense exercises.
The People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China continues to demonstrate cutting-edge advancements in military technology with the strategic deployment of high-tech equipment, including exoskeletons, robot dogs, and a novel drone-laser combination, during recent military exercises.

In a logistics support exercise conducted by a regiment under the PLA Xinjiang Military Command in a remote plateau region, new equipment and tactics were employed to enhance operational efficiency.

As detailed on the PLA Army's official WeChat account, the regiment utilized a manned-unmanned collaborative model to overcome challenges posed by difficult terrain and cut-off roads.

Faced with an impassable route, troops deployed all-terrain and unmanned vehicles to progress with their mission.

When roads were sabotaged, personnel relied on aerial drones and exoskeletons to bypass the damaged sections, delivering crucial supplies efficiently.

A notable image released alongside the statement depicted a soldier operating alongside a robot dog tasked with carrying essential equipment.

Meanwhile, a maritime defense engineering unit from the navy of the PLA's Northern Theater Command conducted a separate exercise focused on explosive ordnance disposal in Bohai Bay.

According to China Central Television (CCTV), troops utilized a drone equipped with a high-power laser system, showcasing a significant advancement in remote explosive disposal methods.

The laser-equipped drone first identified and marked the locations of the explosives before neutralizing them.

This technique enhances safety by allowing operations to be conducted remotely, increasing both efficiency and reducing the time required for safe disposal by up to 80%, according to a unit representative quoted by CCTV.

Military expert Song Zhongping emphasized that the PLA's use of unmanned systems is not limited to combat roles but also extends to logistical and non-combat scenarios like explosive disposal.

Song highlighted that these systems reduce manpower demands and improve overall military efficiency, marking a significant shift from traditional practices.

The rapid integration of intelligent unmanned equipment in PLA operations reflects broader trends in military modernization and technological adoption.
