BEIJING, March 26, 2025 — Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun has reiterated the country's stance against what it describes as U.S. hegemonic logic, urging Washington not to apply outdated Cold War thinking to its relationship with China.

Guo's remarks came in response to a U.S. report labeling China as its primary military and cyber threat.

During a regular press briefing in Beijing, he criticized the recurrent 'China threat' narrative in U.S. reports, asserting such claims are aimed at containing China and preserving U.S. dominance on the global stage.

Guo emphasized that China's development trajectory stems from its historical context and internal motivations, aimed at improving the lives of its citizens and contributing positively to the world.

He affirmed that China seeks neither to surpass nor replace any nation.

Additionally, Guo asserted the sensitivity surrounding the Taiwan issue, labeling it a matter of internal sovereignty.

He urged the U.S. to cease support for Taiwanese independence movements and warned against underestimating China's resolve in this domain.

In a related diplomatic engagement, Wang Yi, a leading figure in China's foreign affairs, met with Evan Greenberg, executive vice chair of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations.

Their conversations highlighted the mutual economic interests and significant potential for collaboration between the two countries.

Wang encouraged the U.S. to follow the consensus reached by the Chinese and U.S. heads of state, promoting stable channels of communication to mitigate misunderstandings.

During the China Development Forum 2025, Premier Li Qiang reaffirmed China's commitment to open markets and the integration of foreign businesses.

He acknowledged the need for collaboration in an increasingly fragmented global economic environment.

The forum attracted over 750 attendees, including foreign representatives, emphasizing China's favorable investment environment and welcoming attitude toward international enterprises.
